Options & Paid Support - Overview

Managed Services are server support services beyond the standard technical support which every client receives. This service covers system administration.

All dedicated server packages include:

  • A high-speed dedicated Internet server
  • All server hardware and maintenance; any hardware failures are our responsibility
  • Monitoring of your server 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
  • Total control of your server through root or administrator access
  • Rack space in our data center
  • Uninterruptible power supply
  • Back-up generator

Any services not listed above should be considered a managed service. If the specific service you are looking for is not listed below, please contact a sales representative.

 


System Administration

Dedicated Systems has a very knowledgeable and experienced staff to assist clients in the administration and maintenance of their dedicated server.

Unless otherwise specified, system administration includes:

System Configuration

  • Operating System upgrades
  • Supported software upgrades or service patch updates
  • Mail Server (adding/deleting users, mail forwards, auto responders)
  • Web Server (adding domains, password protection, server module support)
  • FTP Server (restricting access, setting up new users)

Software Installation and Configuration

  • Configuration instructions must be provided by client
  • Supported software by operating system: Linux
         Note: This does not include the cost of tech support
         from a third party (such as a software vendor).

  ***We will not support software that we do not install.***

Monthly Support Plan customers will receive a discount ($75 per hour) for anytime over their normal system administration support time. Our normal per incident rate is $100 per hour. 

System Administration services are performed between 9:00 AM PST and 6:00 PM PST Monday through Friday. Any system administration performed outside of these times will be calculated at 1.5 times our normal rate (after hours and on weekends) and 2 times our normal rate during holidays. Time cannot be banked or stored from one month to the next.

Paid Support

Please contact us for one-time (job-to-job) paid support. The rate is $100 per hour. There is a minimum one-hour charge ($100) for any work done. System Administration work is done between 9:00 AM PST and 6:00 PM PST Monday through Friday. Work done outside of these times will be billed at $150 per hour.

The Support Department will send back a quote for the work you submit.
