How do I run a Unix server remotely?
Unix is very easy to operate from a remote location. Your control panel makes it easy. You can also SSH in. At the prompt you have full control of the system.
What software comes loaded on the Unix server?
The operating system is Linux. With the Interworx control panel anybody can hosts sites with a few clicks. Spam blocking tools are also included. Everything you need for a ready-to-run server is included -- there is nothing else to buy.
How many IP addresses do I get?
This depends on the server. It ranges from 2 to 75 IP addresses. Additional IP's in blocks of 10 can be purchased. You can host many more sites than the number of IP's you have.
Who provides DNS services?
We do. Or you can have your own DNS right on your machine.
Is there a limit to the number of mail users?
No. This system supports unlimited users and domains.
Does this server support hosting of other domains?
Yes. This server fully supports virtual hosting. Each domain can have its own web space, mail users, FTP users, traffic reports, etc., all independent of each other.
Wouldn't our own server be less expensive?
Please see this comparison. We can provide a fast online solution for a fraction of your cost because we do a high volume. Just a fast connection will cost thousands per month. You would still have to buy computers, software, routing, CSU/DSU equipment, and pay to have it all installed and maintained. In addition, you would have to install your own DNS servers or pay for DNS services elsewhere. We provide everything in one affordable package.
What if I go over the amount of traffic allowed in a month.
Extra bandwidth is charged at the rate of $50.00 per 25 gigabytes. It is not prorated in any manner. To date, only one customer has exceeded the allotment.
